Amer Shomali
Amer Shomali (b. 1981) is a Palestinian multidisciplinary artist, using painting, films, digital media, installations and comics as tools to explore and interact with the sociopolitical scene in Palestine. Much of Shomali’s work examines the creation and the use of the Palestinian revolution’s iconography.
Shomali co-directed the award-winning film The Wanted 18 with Paul Cowan.
Samaḥ Shiḥadi
Samaḥ Shiḥadi (b. 1987) focuses on the daily personal and social challenges that women face – both at home and beyond. Her empathy and steadfastness are beautifully and sensitively articulated in much of her work. Themes of nostalgia and displacement unite the women, despite their distinct practices set against the context of continuing geopolitical unrest in Palestine, Shihadi expresses a desire shared by many in the Palestinian diaspora to return to one’s roots.
Ahlam Shibli
Ahlam Shibli is a Palestinian photographer. Her work explores themes of home and belonging and documents the life of Arabs in villages unrecognized by Israel in the Negev and northern Galilee regions
Laila Shawa
Laila Shawa (b. 1940) is a Palestinian artist whose work has been described as a personal reflection concerning the politics of her country, particularly highlighting perceived injustices and persecution. She is one of the most prominent and prolific artists of the Arabic revolutionary contemporary art scene.

Fatma Shanan
Born in 1986, Fatma Shanan is a painter based in Julis, a Druze village in Northern Israel.
Shanan focuses on realistic, large scale painting, mostly in the technique of oil on canvas. Her works are characterized by a theatrical and enigmatic view on scenes, whose participants belong to the various circles of her life, especially surrounding Julis, the Druze village where she was born and raised.
Ismail Shammout
Ismail Shammout (b. 1930-2006) was a Palestinian artist and art hsitorian. Shammout was an influential Palestinian artist, whose prominent style of painting employs recognizable symbols of Palestinian culture and traditions.
Juliana Seraphim
Juliana Seraphim is a Palestinian artist from Jaffa. Her family fled to Lebanon in 1949. Seraphim’s visual language is characterized as having complex layers of overlapping lines and improvisational dream-like imagery.

Larissa Sansour (b. 1973) is an artist who works with film, photography and sculpture. Jackie Salloum
Jacqueline Reem Salloum is a Brooklyn based artist and filmmaker of Palestinian and Syrian descent. Her multi-media based artwork focuses on documenting histories and memories of people, including her family, that have been fragmented by displacement and exile.
